| What is GIF |
| GIF stands for "Graphics
Interchange Format". It is limited to 256 colors or an 8-bit
palette. GIF is very suitable for graphics storing with fewer colors, like logos, shapes, simple diagrams, etc. Typically, GIF supports animation and is frequently applied to offer animation effects with "sequential static image". The lossless compression is also applied in GIF which is effective when large areas have a single color. However, this is not ineffective for those detailed or dithered images. |
